Dolores O’Riordan of The Cranberries died today aged 46. She had one of the most unique and recognizable voices in music.
For me, it was her rendition of Schubert’s Ave Maria, the Latin version, which showed her true talent and passion. I’ve listened to thousands of versions of this piece and she affected me more than any other singer, Callas included. Some nights I will just sit there listening to this piece on repeat over and over for hours on end.
